The assistant coach supports the head coach in volleyball instruction, team practices, recruiting, and managing student-athlete eligibility and academic progress. The Women’s Volleyball Assistant Coach reports to the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation and supports the Head Coach in the areas of volleyball instruction, team practices, pre-season training, regular and post-season contests, travel, recruiting, student-athlete eligibility, and academic progress. The candidate must be of professional and high ethical standards when representing Passaic County Community College in addition to National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rule compliance and other affiliations governing intercollegiate athletics.

Coach will:
Attend required functions and meetings deemed by the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation
Assist with recruiting talented student-athletes in Passaic County, NJ and surrounding communities.
Assist in coordinating campus visits and tours with PCCC College Administrators on behalf of new recruits.
Represent sports program at college functions and civic engagements.
Obtain updated and valid physical records of student-athletes prior to volleyball program participation.
Help create or revise a volleyball program handbook outlining plans, goals, objectives, team dos-and-don’ts etc.
Assist with organizing and administering daily conditioning and sport specific training.
Transport student-athletes to off-campus games and other functions in the college van.
Oversee student-athlete behavior/conduct and academic eligibility.
Assist with purchasing, inventory, disbursement and return of all equipment, uniforms, assigned to student-athletes.
Help establish and maintain relations with external volleyball organizations, high school coaches and players.
Frequently review and apply rules outlined in Region XIX and GSAC Sports Operating Code along with bylaws governed by the NJCAA.
Execute and ensure compliance of all regulations, rules, procedures, and policies for the program as established by the NJCAA, GSAC and Passaic County Community College.
Upload team roster, stats, scores, and other information required on Region XIX and NJCAA National website.
Help coordinate travel, meals and team meetings as needed.
Help schedule team practices, pre-season training, and off-season work outs.
Help organize and administer team community service and fundraising efforts as needed.
Serve as a positive role model for PCCC student-athletes.
Nominate student athletes for intercollegiate awards and recognition.
Assist student-athletes in transition to the next level of competition and education at four-year institutions.
Maintain regular contact with student-athletes and the Women’s Volleyball Head Coach during the full term of the contract, including the off season.
Take role in student-athlete academic success, engagement, and retention by covering study halls, monitor class attendance, and follow up on progress reports.
Take initiative to assure both operational need and program infrastructure remains intact during times of crisis.
Adhere to actions deemed by Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation in support of the mission intended for the sports program and department.
Perform related duties as required.
High school diploma required, associate degree or, higher degree preferred.
Must have a flexible schedule to be present at all practices, home, and away games.
Volleyball coaching/playing experience with proven success record.
Prior high school and or 2–4-year college level coaching experience highly desired
Possess a valid drivers' license.
Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
Proven ability to effectively recruit student-athletes within and beyond Passaic County
Ability to understand and apply sport compliance rules.
Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations is highly desired.

The stipend pay for this position is $5,000 for a full season.
