About the role

The Lead Infant Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment while planning developmentally appropriate activities for infants. They must also build positive relationships with families and ensure compliance with state regulations and center policies.

We are seeking a caring, experienced, and dedicated Lead Infant Teacher to join our team.

Our center is a NAEYC-accredited and Quality Stars NY accredited childcare program located on a university campus.

We take pride in providing high-quality early childhood education while fostering a supportive, collaborative workplace for our staff.

Position Details

Position: Full-Time Lead Infant Teacher Schedule: Monday-Friday Hours: 40 hours per week Shift: Must be available to work an 8-hour shift between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM No evenings or weekends

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following: An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a directly related field; or A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; or A formal written education plan leading toward the required qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree including 12 credits in Early Childhood Education, or a Bachelor's Degree plus 12 credits in Early Childhood Education; or An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (or directly related field) and four years of teaching experience in a child care center or other educational program serving young children.

Responsibilities

Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for infants. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support each child's growth and learning. Build strong, positive relationships with children and their families. Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom. Observe, document, and communicate children's developmental progress. Ensure compliance with New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations and center policies. Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to provide the highest quality care and education.

Qualifications

Experience working with infants in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Reliable, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with young children. Physical Requirements Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, sit on the floor, and rise from the floor without adult assistance. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Requirements
