  • Summary: The Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for athletes and active individuals in clinical, school, and community settings. This role applies evidence-based sports medicine practices, conducts functional evaluations, and delivers taping and bracing interventions to support safe participation, recovery, and performance. Working collaboratively with providers, coaches, families, and the sports medicine team, the Athletic Trainer contributes to coordinated care and clear communication across settings. The position is responsible for completing assigned duties as directed for the Sports Medicine Department, with work schedules arranged by the Sports Medicine Manager, supporting a structured and team-oriented approach to service delivery.

  • Responsibilities: Provide onsite and clinical injury assessment, triage, and documentation. Design and implement rehabilitation and return to play programs based on best practices. Deliver taping, bracing, and manual therapy techniques in accordance with licensure. Communicate with physicians, coaches, and families regarding care plans and restrictions. Maintain accurate records and comply with regulatory and organizational standards. Support event coverage, risk reduction practices, and emergency response protocols.

  • Required: BOC certification. Current ND Athletic Training licensure by time of hire. CPR certification required within 30 days of hire and must have before seeing patients. Valid driver's license or transportation available to assigned events.

Should be able to address the needs of athletes of all ages by assessment, treatment, or referral to the medical personnel competent in their care. Be proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and can utilize the internet without difficulty

  • Requirements: The role requires frequent standing, walking, running short distances, kneeling, bending, and supporting athletes during assisted movement. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required for equipment or patient assistance. Fine motor skills are essential for taping, bracing, and clinical procedures, along with adequate sensory abilities for assessment and emergency response.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's or master's degree in athletic training and possess BOC certification. Current North Dakota athletic training licensure and CPR certification are also required for this position.
