Guided by principles that emphasize educational programs and student success, especially in learning and continuous improvement, we envision BMCC as a premier learning organization that is in the forefront of community college education. The successful candidate will perform all functions and activities within the guidelines and philosophy set forth in the BMCC Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan. Essential Functions Teach assigned courses in accordance with course descriptions as outlined in a course syllabus and schedule requirements. Provide regular and substantive feedback to all students, especially in distance education courses. Deliver instruction in different modalities such as face to face, hybrid, and distance delivery in both synchronous and asynchronous distance formats. Distribute a course syllabus by the first class period of each term clearly stating all required elements including, but not limited to, learning outcomes, grading processes, attendance requirements, nature of assignments or requirements, communication policy, and required texts. For off-campus courses, the course syllabus should be posted to the Learning Management Software by the first day of the term. Use the adopted learning management systems (CANVAS) in teaching and course management. Use the institutional student information system (SIS) to document record of attendance and final grades. Collect data to assess learning based on course outcomes; use assessment data to make improvements in course curriculum and adopt teaching practices that foster learning for students. Provide regularly scheduled and posted times for availability for students for course related consultation. Observe all policies of the Board of Education and/or administration regulations and procedures as they apply to the instructor as a member of the college faculty and as a BMCC employee. QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of computers, with skills in MS Word and Excel, and with ZOOM. Experience with a Learning Management System (Canvas preferred).

Adjunct Instructors must be a resident of either Oregon or Washington State. Requirements

Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor's degree for professional-technical roles or a Master's degree for lower division collegiate roles. Applicants are required to be residents of Oregon or Washington and possess strong communication and computer skills.
