You are: Open to new ideas Nimble in fluid, changing environments Excited by growth, change, and innovation WHAT YOU’LL DO The Quad Preparatory School is looking for a floating associate teacher (STEM) for our Upper School (grades 6-12) campus. The floating associate will fill in for head teachers and psychosocial teachers when needed to provide instruction and social-emotional support to students. Our classrooms typically consist of ten or fewer students. Teachers have the opportunity to receive mentorship, coaching, and support from the clinicians as well as academic administrators.
Take on the responsibilities of a head teacher or psychosocial teacher, following lesson plans and the directions of other classroom teachers. Report to the teacher on his or her return as to what was accomplished during the teacher’s absence. Develop and be ready to implement “emergency” lesson plans in the event a teacher’s absence is unexpected and plans are not readily available. Push into the homeroom classes for interdisciplinary lessons and classroom support on days when substitute coverage is not needed. Perform administrative and clerical tasks for Upper School faculty and administration on days when substitute coverage is not needed. Follow the professional code and policies of the school and conduct oneself in a way that promotes the mission of the school. Utilize Google Suite, in particular Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets. Attend all faculty and staff meetings and required special events (e.g., open houses, Curriculum Night, Carnivale). Perform other duties as assigned.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in education, special education, or a STEM-related field. Experience teaching children in grades 6-12 is required, with a preference for those with at least three years of experience and a master's degree.
