The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides direct clinical care, including psychiatric evaluations and medication management, for a high-risk adult population with substance dependency or mental illness. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans, conduct medical evaluations, and provide clinical supervision to students.

· Experience working with clients who are involved with probation, human services, and/or other referral sources. · Experience working with opioid-dependent, adult clients · Experience with patient treatment plans and other clinical/medical documentation · Experience with therapeutic confrontation and structures · Experience observing, monitoring and intervening in drug/alcohol treatment · Experience providing collaborative, integrative health care to patients
· Knowledge of medications used to treat substance use and psychiatric conditions. · Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with faculty, staff, students, alumni, industry and the public. · Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a varied population of faculty, staff and students. · Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with stakeholders at all levels. · Attention to detail, organized · Experience developing, training and supervising psychology trainees. · Ability to manage difficult behaviors · Ability to engage substance dependent clients in treatment · Ability to comply with established rules, policies and procedures and meet deadlines · Ability to be open-minded and nonjudgmental · Ability to develop healthy relationships with clients · Ability to establish boundaries with clients · Ability to exercise patient confidentiality and observe HIPAA requirements
