  • Range: $20.00 - $25.00 HourlyUnder the direction of the Preschool Director, the Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning, developing and implementing a preschool program that promotes the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of preschool aged children. Creates lessons and activities that are age appropriate. Supervises children closely to ensure their safety. Establishes a nurturing environment and relationship with the children and their families. Serves as a role model to students and staff. Supervises teacher assistants assigned to classroom. Responsible for classroom management including the care of classroom equipment and materials and maintains an organized and neat environment. Maintains an inventory of supplies and orders supplies as needed. Prepares student evaluations for parent/staff conferences and conducts Parent/Teacher conferences. Participates in staff meetings, trainings and program related activities as directed. Attends special events and programs that take place outside of the school hour schedule. Performs additional tasks as required. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsMust be a mature, energetic, responsible adult at least 19 years of age with strong organizational, presentation, communication and leadership skills. Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to early childhood care and/or child development, from birth to age six. Must have experience working with preschool aged children. Must be able to meet DCFS licensing standards for childcare workers which includes a current medical examination, TB test and criminal background check. *
  • This job falls in paygrade PT6. The target hiring range for this position is $ 20.00 - $ 25.00 depending on qualifications.
