About the role

The teacher will deliver hands-on STEM instruction using PLTW-aligned lessons to foster problem-solving and design thinking skills. They are responsible for planning units, managing the classroom environment, and maintaining clear communication with families and staff.

What You’ll Do As a Project Lead The Way Teacher, you’ll deliver hands-on STEM instruction that builds problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world design thinking for students. This role exists to help learners connect classroom concepts to practical applications and future pathways.

Responsibilities

  • Teach PLTW-aligned lessons and projects in a safe, structured classroom
  • Plan units, labs, and assessments that track student progress
  • Differentiate instruction to support varied learning needs
  • Maintain clear documentation, grades, and communication with families
  • Collaborate with school staff and follow district/school procedures

Qualifications/skills

  • Comfort learning new curriculum tools; we’ll train you on PLTW content
  • Ability to build positive, consistent routines for students

  • A Typical School Day You’re onsite in Jacksonville and start your morning before students arrive to get materials ready and check the day’s plan.
  • Classes run Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, with time built in to reset between periods.
  • You’ll spend the day guiding students through hands-on activities, circulating to coach teams, and keeping the room organized for smooth transitions.
  • During planning time, you’ll review student work, update grades, and prep upcoming projects.
  • After dismissal, you’ll wrap up documentation and respond to messages so families and students stay informed.
