About the role

The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach is responsible for developing and organizing the soccer program, including recruiting, practice coordination, and skill instruction. They also manage team budgets, fundraising efforts, and ensure compliance with NAIA rules and university policies.

SUMMARY

The HSSU Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach is responsible for all aspects of developing and organizing the program. Position also requires extensive recruiting, coordination of practices, skill development, and instructing student athletes in techniques for peak performance. The position also requires some NAIA eligibility knowledge and performs other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director & or appropriate administrator. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Principal duties/Responsibilities
  • Instructs student athletes in techniques of the sport, rules, regulations, and equipment
  • Coordinates practices, helps drive HSSU/rental vehicles to away games, team travel
  • Coaches effectively in practices and competitions
  • Integrates the program into the campus community
  • Manage team budget and fundraising experience
  • Provides supervision of student athletes
  • Recommend improvements and modifications
  • Promote philosophy of the athletic department and HSSU University.

Education & experience requirements

Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Collegiate playing experience.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills for both field and goal keepers

Must possess some knowledge of the NAIA rules, and regulations

Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with University administrators and student-athletes.

Physical and Communication Requirements

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may include the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods; use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment; review and process information presented in electronic and printed formats; and communicate effectively with colleagues, students, visitors, and other individuals in person, by telephone, and in other work-related settings.

Must have the physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height; and to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead.
