Description The YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Soccer For Succes Coach to lead our youth soccer program. This role involves coaching and refereeing for children aged 3-8. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and a solid understanding of soccer fundamentals. The coach will be responsible for both teaching soccer skills and facilitating games, creating an engaging and supportive environment for all participants.

Location: Huntington YMCA

Shifts

  • Saturdays: 9:15 am - 12:00 pm

Key

Responsibilities

Instruct and coach children on soccer fundamentals, including skills and drills. Referee games, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules. Session Structure: Begin each session with a brief lesson on drills, followed by facilitating gameplay among participants. Adapt to a schedule that may change based on enrollment. Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications

Previous experience in soccer coaching, particularly with young children. Familiarity with soccer rules and ability to referee games. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work Sunday mornings and early afternoons consistently. Commitment to the entire duration of the Fall session
