The Early Preschool Teacher is responsible for managing a classroom of 2-3 year olds, creating lesson plans, and providing a safe, nurturing environment. They must collaborate with staff, communicate with parents, and support children's social and emotional development.

About the Role

As an Early Preschool Teacher, you are responsible for a classroom of children 2 - 3 years of age. You will provide a nurturing and safe environment by working collaboratively with your partner teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom. You will demonstrate good judgment in the care of each child assigned to you. You will verbally engage the children throughout the day in addition to incorporating activities. Teachers create their own lesson plans using a provided curriculum as a guide. In early preschool, the day includes a balance of structured activities and open/free play. You will also.. Create a nurturing, responsive environment that promotes positive development of social and emotional competencies Assist with toileting and diaper changing as needed Support children with meals, snacks, and rest periods Collaborate with other faculty and staff members Communicate daily with parents or guardians Maintain a well-organized and engaging classroom environment What We Are Looking For 12 completed ECE semester units (or 18 quarter units), including coursework in: Child Growth and Development Child, Family, and Community Program/Curriculum OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Prior teaching experience with preschool students is preferred To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. In general, this position requires an individual to frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak the English language. In addition, this position often requires an individual to carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend. This position is regularly required to hear and use clear vision with or without correction. Requirements

Candidates must have 12 ECE semester units including coursework in child growth and development, or a Bachelor's degree in Child Development. Prior teaching experience with preschool students is preferred along with strong communication skills.
