Founded in 2000, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy students represent the neighborhood of MacArthur Park west of downtown Los Angeles, a community that is one of the most under-resourced and densely populated neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Currently, CNCA has six campuses that serve approximately 3,500 students from TK through 12th grade. The Opportunity Under the supervision of School Leadership, the Intervention Teacher has the opportunity to use innovative curriculum and teaching methodologies to establish a culture of educational excellence through great professional development opportunities and team teaching. Teacher must be a visionary, eager to be in the forefront of educational practices, and must embrace the challenge of demonstrating that public education in a low-income, primarily immigrant, multilingual area can succeed. Essential Functions Prepare and implement lesson plans that lead to student support and mastery of curriculum content in the least restrictive environment Adapt classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans Administer developmental testing programs, subject specific assessments, etc., for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans. Requirements

Candidates must hold a California Teaching Credential or equivalent and BCLAD certification in Spanish. Experience working with English language learners and students with special needs in a K-8 bilingual setting is required.
