Louis.Job Summary

The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing instructional support and classroom supervision in the absence of the regular teacher.

This position ensures continuity of student learning while maintaining a safe, positive, and faith-centered educational environment.

The Substitute Teacher supports the mission of Ste.

Genevieve DuBois Catholic School by promoting academic excellence, Christian values, and respect for all members of the school community.

Job Responsibilities

Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the regular classroom teacher.

Maintain a positive, orderly, and engaging classroom environment that supports student learning.

Supervise students throughout the school day and ensure their safety and well-being.

Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and procedures.

Provide appropriate instruction, guidance, and support to students in assigned grade levels and subject areas.

Communicate relevant information regarding student progress, behavior, and completed assignments to the regular teacher.

Follow all school policies, procedures, emergency protocols, and confidentiality requirements.

Demonstrate professionalism and collaborate effectively with school administrators, faculty, staff, students, and parents.

Support the Catholic mission and values of the school through daily interactions and conduct.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain a productive learning environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow written lesson plans and adapt to different classroom settings.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and flexibility.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission, philosophy, and values of Catholic education.
  • Completion of all diocesan and school-required background checks, safe environment training, and employment requirements.
