This position is responsible for managing instructional and behavioral activities for students assigned to in-school suspension. The assistant works under the direction of school administration to maintain a structured environment for referred students.
Purpose and Scope This position is responsible for instructional and behavioral activities for students referred by the school principal or assistant principal for in-school suspension.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours) from an, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test. Also requires two (2) years of experience working with urban and/or disadvantaged youth. Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid. Degree Equivalency Formula: Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience. Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s degrees must be included.
Candidates must hold an Associate's degree or equivalent college credits, or have passed the ParaPro Assessment. Additionally, two years of experience working with urban or disadvantaged youth and current CPR/First Aid certification are required.
