About the role

The assistant will supervise students during lunch and after-school study hall to ensure a safe and structured environment. They will also facilitate enrichment activities and support students with their academic assignments.

Stratford School is seeking a dependable, engaging, and caring Middle School Lunch and Study Hall Assistant to help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where students can learn, connect, and thrive throughout the school day and during after-school programming.

Location: 75 Francis Street, San Francisco, CA 94112 Schedule: Monday–Friday | 10:45 AM - 1:45 PM and 3:15 PM - 6 PM Pay Range: $22 - $25 per hour

About the Role

The Middle School Lunch and Study Hall Assistant plays an important role in supporting students throughout the day, including lunch supervision and after-school study hall and enrichment activities. You will help create a positive environment where students can enjoy their lunch, complete their work, participate in activities, and feel supported and engaged. Working closely with the team lead and school leadership, you will help ensure students are appropriately supervised, safe, and engaged throughout the program. What You’ll Do Supervise students during lunch and outdoor periods Positively engage with students and help create a welcoming lunchtime environment Support appropriate student behavior and reinforce school expectations Facilitate daily study hall, enrichment, and program activities according to the established schedule Supervise and positively engage with students during indoor and outdoor activities Provide support and encouragement to students as they complete assignments and independent work Assist with classroom and activity management Ensure the physical safety and well-being of students Communicate with the team lead regarding student needs or concerns Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment Follow all school safety and supervision procedures What We’re Looking For High school diploma or GED A kind, patient, and positive demeanor when working with students Passion and enthusiasm for working with children and supporting education Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependability and a willingness to be an active member of the school community Integrity and professionalism in carrying out daily responsibilities Ability to build positive relationships with middle school students Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and actively supervise students for extended periods Ability to bend, stoop, and move quickly across campus when needed Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to actively supervise students by sight and sound at all times Ability to respond promptly to student needs and campus situations To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate a kind, patient, and positive demeanor. Strong communication skills and the ability to actively supervise students in both indoor and outdoor settings are required.
