The Assistant Preschool Teacher partners with the Lead Teacher to implement play-based curriculum and foster a supportive, inquiry-driven classroom environment. They are responsible for ensuring student safety, supporting developmental milestones, and maintaining consistent communication with families.
$21/hour (Private classrooms) or $36,000/year (DOE) Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (summer and school breaks off for DOE)

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our mission of giving New York City’s youngest learners a joyful, solid foundation for lifelong learning. In this role, you will be the vital "right hand" in an inclusive, nurturing 2’s, 3’s, or 4’s classroom. You will support the Lead Teacher in implementing the Tools of the Mind Curriculum, helping guide students through a journey of intentional play. You are a co-creator of a culture that fosters inquiry, independence, and social-emotional intelligence.
What We’re Looking For Education: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or a related field (or currently enrolled) preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience: 2+ years of experience working with children ages 2–5 in a group setting (preschool, daycare, or enrichment center). Special Edge: Be a passionate teacher and lifelong learner! Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
