The Athletic Trainer provides healthcare services to student-athletes, including injury prevention, care, and management of sports-related conditions. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate performance records and ensuring compliance with FHSAA regulations.

Athletic Trainer will provide healthcare services to student-athletes during athletic activities and shall be trained/familiar with best practices for the prevention, care, and management of common sports-related injuries, illness, conditions, and emergency situations.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Comply with the rules and regulations of the FHSAA
Communicate to all participants the policies of the team and athletic department.
Submit forms as required by the FHSAA; i.e., eligibility rosters, players' information etc.
Responsible for following the established procedures for communicating with parents/guardians.
Educates parents, athletes, and the general public regarding injury prevention, rehabilitation, wellness, and other health-related issues.
Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning in the assigned sport.
Provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship; compile and maintain accurate individual and team performance records; participate in the awards program(s) according to school procedure.
Follows appropriate protocols, standards, and practices, including those related to blood borne pathogens.
Performs fitting and education regarding crutches, braces, soft goods, etc.
Maintains strict athlete confidentiality.

Background Screening Requirement
Subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.

Candidates being seriously considered for a position will be invited for an extensive interview process. Final out of state candidates will continue the interviews in Florida at their own expense. Candidates will be interviewed by TCA School administration. The candidate may also be required to perform or provide a model lesson.
Candidates must be licensed healthcare professionals in good standing, such as an MD, DO, DC, ARPN, or certified Athletic Trainer. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and candidates must pass a Florida Level 2 background screening.
