About the role

The After School Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for students while supervising recreational activities. They will also build positive relationships with students and collaborate with campus staff to ensure a smooth transition between school and after-school programs.

Stratford School is looking for a caring and enthusiastic After School Teacher to join our team!

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with elementary-aged students and wants a part-time position that fits well into a school-day schedule.

You’ll play an important role in creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where students can learn, play, and build positive relationships.

Your Schedule Monday–Friday Afternoon: 3:15 PM–6:00 PM Compensation $20.00–$27.45 per hour, based on prior work experience What You'll Do As an After School Teacher, you will: Create a fun, positive, and welcoming environment for students.

Supervise and engage students during after-school activities and recreational time.

Lead games, activities, and recreational opportunities that encourage students to participate and have fun.

Build positive relationships with students and help them feel supported and included.

Help students transition safely between classrooms, activities, and dismissal.

Monitor students both indoors and outdoors.

Support a safe and respectful school environment by following supervision and safety procedures.

Work collaboratively with teachers and campus staff.

Bring energy, patience, and a positive attitude to every interaction with students!

What We’re Looking For High school diploma or GED A kind, patient, and positive demeanor when working with students Passion and enthusiasm for working with children and supporting education Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependability and a willingness to be an active member of the school community Integrity and professionalism in carrying out daily responsibilities Ability to build positive relationships with middle school students Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and actively supervise students for extended periods Ability to bend, stoop, and move quickly across campus when needed Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to actively supervise students by sight and sound at all times Ability to respond promptly to student needs and campus situations To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate a kind, patient, and positive demeanor when working with children. Strong communication skills, dependability, and the physical ability to actively supervise students in various settings are also required.
