About the role

The substitute teacher is responsible for implementing provided lesson plans and maintaining an organized, safe classroom environment. They also act as an ambassador for the organization and manage student attendance and discipline.

Overview

LifeWise substitute teachers will demonstrate excellence in Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive and proficient in teaching students.

Job Description

  • Complete substitute teacher training
  • Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis
  • Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher
  • Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures
  • Follow the program's student discipline policy
  • Maintain Records
  • Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher
  • Maintain Classroom
  • Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom
  • Know procedures for emergency situations
  • Communicate
  • Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
  • Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties
  • Communicate with the teacher

Candidates must possess a mature Christian faith and be active participants in a local church that aligns with the organization's statement of faith. Excellent communication skills and the ability to complete substitute teacher training are required.
