About the role

The Child Care Supervisor III plans and conducts daily activities while ensuring the safety, emotional, and intellectual needs of children are met. They are also responsible for training staff, maintaining center cleanliness, and communicating effectively with parents.

Eventide Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake, ND is seeking a Child Care Supervisor III to work full time at the Child Care Center which typically opens at 530a. Includes weekend and holiday rotation, as needed.

The Child Care Supervisor provides high-quality and safe child care to the children of the center in accordance with current local, state, and federal standards, guidelines, and regulations as well as the philosophy, policies, and procedures of Eventide. Ensures that the children have a warm, welcoming, and safe space to play and learn. Responsible for looking after the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children.

Essential Functions

Plans, supervises, and conducts daily activities in the child care center with guidance from the Child Care Director.

Informs parents of scheduled activities and communicates with parents about the individual needs of each child, including any special concerns the parents may have.

Ensures proper child-to-worker ratios are adhered to at all times.

Trains and educates employees on the Center’s practices and procedures, ensuring competency of staff to provide safe child care.

Maintains cleanliness and neatness of the Center: sanitizes toys and play equipment; organizes and stores toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas; cleans kitchen after meal and snack services; cleans bathrooms; performs general housekeeping duties.

Performs all laundry duties as assigned and needed.

Serves snacks, meals, and drinks, in accordance with each child’s needs and preferences. Feeds infants in accordance with their feeding schedule.

Administers medications per instruction and protocol and properly documents administration on the medication sheet.

Assists with all other direct child care and duties as needed.

Education and Experience • Supervisor 1

  • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in child care is required.
  • Supervisor 2: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Supervisor 3: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • CPR/ First Aid/ AED certification within 90 days of employment required.
  • 16-hour Child Care orientation upon hire.
  • 15-hour Getting Started course upon hire.

Compensation

At Eventide, we value our employees and offer a competitive starting pay range of $16.00-20.16.92 for Child Care Supervisors per hour based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are also available, for select positions, paid on employment status and shift worked.

Requirements
