Conduct comprehensive evaluations and reevaluations for preschool-aged students Assess students referred through Child Find and birth-to-three transition services Administer, score, and interpret developmentally appropriate cognitive, behavioral, social-emotional, and adaptive assessments Gather and analyze information through observations, interviews, record reviews, and standardized testing Prepare clear, thorough, and family-friendly evaluation reports Determine students’ eligibility for special education services in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Participate in evaluation, eligibility, transition, and Individualized Education Program meetings Collaborate closely with psychologists, SLPs, occupational and physical therapists, nurses, teachers, families, and other service providers Communicate evaluation findings and recommendations clearly and compassionately to families and team members Support the development of appropriate educational programming, interventions, and services Maintain accurate records and complete documentation within required timelines Ensure evaluations and services comply with state, federal, and district requirements
Requires a Master’s or educational specialist degree in School Psychology and a valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate certificate. Candidates must have experience with early childhood assessments and knowledge of special education laws and procedures.
