The instructional aide assists in the supervision of children and helps plan and implement daily programs. They are also responsible for general housekeeping, preparing snacks, and adhering to safety and disciplinary policies.
Overview Assists with the supervision of a group of children in an early childhood or school aged childcare site. Helps with Sign in and out after school. Assists in supervision of a group of children. Provides assistance in planning and implementation of the daily program. Performs general housekeeping tasks; helps maintain clean and safe area. Prepares and serves snacks. Cleans snack area. Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures. Attends staff meetings and training programs. Demonstrate the "Character Counts" values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility in all your dealings with members, guests, volunteers and fellow staff. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law (If the state sets requirements. The YMCA should establish minimum qualification standards if the state has no requirements). Must be able to work legally. Current state approved first-aid certification. Current state approved infant/child (or community if school aged) CPR certification.
