  • Position: Ferris State University seeks a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Assistant Cheer & STUNT Coach to assist the Head Cheer & STUNT Coach in all facets of a nationally competitive NCAA athletics program. The successful candidate will support the daily operations of the Cheer & STUNT programs while helping to develop student-athletes both academically and athletically. This position is limited to 28 hours per work week.

Minimum of two (2) years of collegiate coaching experience.

Minimum of four (4) years of collegiate cheer and/or STUNT participation experience.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered

Experience recruiting student-athletes at the collegiate level.

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Experience with game-day operations, competition preparation, and program administration.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Assist the Head Cheer & STUNT Coach in all aspects of the Cheer & STUNT programs.

Coordinate and direct specific areas of the program as assigned by the Head Coach.

Assist with practice planning, skill development, game-day operations, competition preparation, and recruiting efforts.

Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to student-athletes to promote academic success, personal growth, and athletic achievement.

Support program operations including travel coordination, equipment management, and event preparation.

Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes and support university enrollment and retention initiatives.

Ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, university, and departmental policies and procedures.

Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, integrity, accountability, and excellence.

Operates a university or personal vehicle safely while carrying out job responsibilities. Will authorize, pursuant to university policies and procedures, a driving record check, and will meet the driving authorization requirements through the course of employment in a position where you are authorized to drive a vehicle as part of your duties.

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with university policies and applicable laws.

Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty, and staff to thrive authentically.

Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.

Represent Ferris State University and the Athletics Department in a professional manner.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and campus partners.
