The Nursing Educator is responsible for facilitating the professional development of nursing staff and implementing programs to improve the quality of patient care. They serve as a clinical instructor for university students, ensuring adherence to curriculum requirements and Atlantic Health System policies.
Responsible for assisting with the professional role development of members of the Nursing Department as well as the implementation of programs to improve the quality of care delivered.
Principal Accountabilities: Essential Job Functions
1.
Functions as clinical instructor on designated unit for local universities 2.
Adheres to university adjunct professor requirements regarding curriculum and grading 3.
Adheres to Atlantic Health System requirements regarding student to instructor ratio 4.
Ensures students are adhering to all Atlantic Health System policies regarding parking, hygiene, and patient care requirements.

Participates in required on- campus activities such as simulation for clinical course 6.
Gathers data to monitor student outcomes at beginning and conclusion of clinical rotation 7.
Facilitates student engagement on unit and promotes AHS Nurse Externship and Hire Learner Programs 8.
Assists unit educator and clinical nurse specialist in unit-based education needs (Hire Learner Education, cross-training education, simulation days, competency days) 9.
Other duties as assigned
