About the role

Lead teachers and assistants are responsible for implementing the P.L.A.N. curriculum and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children. They must also maintain clear communication with families and support the developmental growth of each student.

The Roles Lead Teachers You're the heartbeat of the classroom.

You'll design engaging days using our P.L.A.N. curriculum, build real relationships with your students, and set the tone for a safe, joyful, well-run room.

What you'll do: Plan and lead daily activities using our P.L.A.N. curriculum Build strong, trusting bonds with students and their families Own classroom management — creating a consistent, positive environment for kids and staff alike Support each child's physical, social-emotional, and developmental growth Communicate clearly and warmly with families, colleagues, and your community You'll bring: 3–5 years of relevant classroom experience A bachelor's degree is required (preferably in the field of education).

You may also need an MSDE 90hr Preschool Certificate or CDA Certification with Preschool Endorsement (minimum) Solid grasp of child development principles and instructional strategies Working knowledge of MSDE regulations A warm, friendly, unflappable demeanor is a must Strong written and verbal communication skills Reliability you could set a clock to Assistant Teachers You're the extra set of hands, eyes, and hugs every classroom needs.

What you'll do: Support the Lead Teacher in bringing our P.L.A.N. curriculum to life Help build a safe, nurturing space where kids feel secure and loved Jump in wherever needed — floating between classrooms as our thriving school needs Support each child's day-to-day needs with patience and care Bring positive energy to your team, your students, and their families You'll bring: Preschool experience of 1-3 years MSDE 90hr Preschool Certificate or CDA Certification with Preschool Endorsement (minimum) A team-first attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed Good communication skills and a calm, friendly presence Reliability and punctuality you take seriously Where You'll Work 📍 Congressional Plaza/Rockville — In the bustling Rockville community, our beautiful modern campus is within walking distance to Twinbrook Metro 📍 BCC - Bethesda-Chevy Chase — In the heart of downtown Bethesda, our multi-level campus is within walking distance to Bethesda Metro 📍 Montgomery Square/Potomac — On the border of Rockville and Potomac on Falls Road.

This is our only bilingual campus with English-Spanish programming in all classes

Pay Lead Teacher

  • $22.00–$25.00/hour
  • Assistant
  • Teacher/Aide: $18.00–$23.00/hour Good to Know Per Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must pass a state and federal background check as a condition of employment.
