The 7–12 Music and Dance Teacher provides engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in both music and dance within a virtual learning environment. This position will teach two sections of music and three sections of dance to students in grades 7–12.
Plan and deliver engaging virtual instruction in music and dance for students in grades 7–12. Develop standards-aligned lessons that meet diverse student needs and learning levels. Teach music and dance concepts, techniques, performance, rhythm, movement, choreography, and creative expression. Incorporate diverse musical and dance styles, traditions, history, and cultural perspectives. Provide opportunities for students to create, practice, perform, and demonstrate learning. Adapt instruction to accommodate varying experience levels, abilities, learning needs, and home environments. Use virtual tools, video demonstrations, and digital resources to support learning and engagement. Monitor student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback. Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and required documentation. Communicate with students and families regarding progress, participation, and support needs. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and other school activities as required. Analyze and use student data to inform your teaching.
Bachelor's degree required. Background, experience, or education in music, dance, performing arts, or a related instructional area is preferred. Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements. NHA will support you through your alternative certification journey.
