What You’ll Do Teach engaging, age-appropriate swim lessons that build confidence and water safety skills. Create a fun, welcoming environment where swimmers of all ages and abilities can thrive. Supervise the pool and respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies. Enforce pool safety rules while providing excellent member service. Encourage swimmers, celebrate their progress, and help them reach their goals. Maintain a clean, safe, and positive aquatic environment. Why Work at the Y! • Instructors: Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards. Must be a strong, competent swimmer, and be able to demonstrate freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Must be able to maintain a positive attitude towards students and staff.
