With the addition of the $70 million Midco Arena, Augustana Athletics is launched the first collegiate hockey program in South Dakota in 2023 and is also the first athletics program to compete at Division I that calls Sioux Falls home. Currently with 21 NCAA Division II sports programs, Augustana Athletics is focused on building champions in the classroom, in competition and in the community, highlighted by three team national championships since 2016. Viking Athletics finished #7 nationally in the Division II Learfield Director’s Cup in 2021-22 and also won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All Sports Award.
Augustana University invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach – Women’s Soccer. This 12-month position supports all aspects of coaching the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer program and is responsible for developing and assisting with maintaining a nationally competitive program. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of expertise, organizational leadership to include coaching knowledge, recruiting expertise, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making to enhance all aspects of the program.

A Support all aspects of the women’s soccer program, including student-athlete development, team performance, and program operations.
Provide on-field coaching focused on individual skill development, team tactics, and overall performance enhancement.
Assist with planning and implementation of preseason, in-season, and off-season training and conditioning.
Recruit and evaluate academically and athletically qualified student-athletes in alignment with Augustana University and NCAA Division II standards.
Contribute to scouting efforts, including film analysis and game strategy preparation.
Collaborate with the Head Coach on camps, clinics, fundraising, and community outreach initiatives.
Monitor academic progress and eligibility; coordinate support with academic services as needed.
Serve as a positive role model and mentor, fostering leadership, accountability, and sportsmanship.
Ensure compliance with NCAA, NSIC, and institutional policies and procedures.
Support team logistics, including travel arrangements and administrative tasks.
Assist in alumni engagement, public relations, and department-wide initiatives.
Attend staff meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
