Step into a temporary K–2 Special Education role with an Illinois elementary school, where you'll provide individualized support to students with a range of learning and developmental needs. This 35-hour-per-week opportunity begins August 11, 2026, and runs through September 23, 2026, with the potential for an extension.
The selected teacher will support approximately four students in a primarily self-contained classroom. Some students will spend part of the day in general education settings, with paraprofessional support available. Responsibilities include delivering individualized instruction, implementing IEP goals, monitoring progress, adapting lessons, and collaborating with school staff and families.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Education, or a related field, along with a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and LBS1 endorsement. Experience working with K–2 students or learners with multiple needs is preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, instructional planning, and collaboration skills are essential.
