The Special Education Teacher is responsible for planning lessons, assessing student progress, and managing the classroom environment. They also supervise support staff and participate in IEP meetings to ensure the individual needs of students are met.

NFI North is looking to fill an immediate opening for a Special Education Teacher at our Special Purpose Private School located in Buxton, Maine. This SPSS is part of a residential treatment program serving up to eight students for grades 7-12. Your role will include planning lessons, assessing student progress, teaching, supervising support staff who help in the classroom and participating in IEP meetings or reviews.

must have a degree in Education and be a licensed teacher in Maine. You must also hold a Special Education certification (282) or be eligible to be conditionally certified (282) and have at least two years of experience working with children/adolescents.
