Develop and lead age-appropriate gymnastics curriculum for K-12 students in an after-school setting. Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment while tracking student growth and providing constructive feedback.
What You'll Do As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach Gymnastics to K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across DC. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks. As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities: Develop age-appropriate Gymnastics curriculum for after-school students Lead weekly in-person classes with enthusiasm and expertise Establish a well-structured and lively classroom that keeps students engaged Foster a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment for students of varying skill levels Build connections with students in a warm and inclusive environment Track student growth and offer positive, helpful feedback Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to teach Create a memorable experience for the children in your class
Who You Are A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:
Has subject matter expertise in Gymnastics Has a passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kids Has excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learning Knows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you teach Is cooperative, supportive, flexible Is dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy … and also appreciates support and clear expectations
\n $90 - $120 an hour Teachers in the Togetherhood network are paid per class, either flat rate or per-student (determined by the partner school). This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work. There is a separate materials budget for teachers to use for classes requiring one. \n
