Working from a home office, this role supports students across all grade bands by delivering live lessons, monitoring progress, maintaining communication with families, and ensuring continuity of instruction.
Assignments typically will be a minimum of one (1) month up to five (5) months.
During the duration of an assignment the substitute teacher will be expected to work full-time (40 hours a week).
Substitute teachers work under the guidance of instructional leadership and collaborate closely with school teams to uphold high academic expectations and student success.
The start date for this position is August 31, 2026.

Essential Responsibilities Provide virtual classroom coverage across subject areas as assigned. Deliver instruction in alignment with school policies, curriculum, and established lesson plans. Maintain a supportive online learning environment and uphold high academic expectations. Communicate professionally with students, staff, and administrators. Complete grading in a timely manner and communicate progress to students and parents. Monitor assignment completion and provide targeted instructional feedback, strategies, and support. Maintain accurate attendance, documentation, and compliance records. Collaborate with teachers and staff to review data and refine instructional strategies. Communicate frequently with students, families, and colleagues regarding academic needs, progress, and expectations. Consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of instructional programs. Follow all school procedures, policies, and guidelines for online instruction. This is a remote position; the employee must reside in California. Travel may be required on occasion for in-person events within California. Other duties as assigned.
Valid California Clear or Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education. Must have English Learner authorization. Must currently reside in California. Strong communication skills and comfort with technology and virtual learning platforms. Previous experience teaching in a virtual or Independent Study environment. Experience working with diverse student populations. Compensation $5858.67 per month, $500 for one week of training
