About the role

The Homework Café Teacher monitors student progress on assignments and supports the development of executive functioning and social-emotional skills. They are also responsible for maintaining an organized learning environment and communicating effectively with parents and teachers.

As a HomeworkCafé® Teacher, you’ll support students in our homework hubs and social spaces.

Our diverse team of lifelong learners shares a mission to personalize education for every student — academically, socially, and emotionally.

Please note: Not all campuses serve grades 4 and 5, and specific details will be shared during the interview process.

What You’ll Do: Monitor and help students’ progress in completion of homework and with executive functioning skills.

Communicate with teachers and parents on student progress.

Promote a positive social environment for students.

Adapt support to meet each learner’s needs.

Mentor each student and support their social-emotional growth.

Contribute to campus life or culture.

Keep student records accurate and organized.

Invest in your own growth through reflection, feedback, and ongoing professional development.

Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or a teaching credential is a plus.

Ability and willingness to support students with a wide range of assignments.

Experience working with students, including those with learning differences, neurodiversity, accelerated learning needs, and/or mental health challenges.

Mentoring experience and a passion for social-emotional learning.

Skilled with technology, curious about innovation, and open to learning new tools.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to function in a high-paced environment, be calm and open for feedback, as well as a self-starter.

Ability to build rapport with students while maintaining authority, boundaries, and discipline.

Must maintain a clean and organized milieu space for students to learn.

A growth mindset with the flexibility to pivot and problem-solve as needed.

Pay Range

Usd $28.25 - Usd $28.25 /Hr.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree is required, with teaching credentials or advanced degrees considered a plus. Candidates must have experience working with students, including those with learning differences or neurodiversity, and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
