The Teaching Assistant works collaboratively with the team to facilitate nurturing and appropriate learning experiences for infants and toddlers. They are responsible for maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment while engaging in effective interactions with children.

Position

Our Lamoille County Integrated Services Center is one of Capstone’s center-based programs for young children, offering full day and high-quality services. A Teaching Assistant position is currently available in the Infant & Toddler classroom to work collaboratively with and support the team in all classroom activities. Teaching Assistants work directly with children and assist Teachers in facilitating nurturing, and appropriate activities and learning experiences in a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

Qualifications

The required, minimum qualifications for the Infant and Toddler Teaching Assistant include a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (or equivalent, state-awarded credential), or enrollment in an undergraduate program leading to an associate or bachelor’s degree or a CDA credential program to be completed within 2 years. Experience working with infants and toddlers is a strongly preferred qualification. Competencies and other requirements for this position include: Excellent communication skills with both young children and adults. Demonstrated competency in engaging in effective, nurturing interactions with children. Ability to facilitate appropriate, child-centered learning experiences. Positive regard for and ability to engage with diverse populations and people with low incomes. Ability to meet physical demands of working with young children in a center-based setting, including regularly lifting 50-60 pounds; frequently standing, walking, climbing, stooping/bending, squatting/crouching; and occasionally running/sprinting. Commitment to working collaboratively with a team toward shared goals and objectives. Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay: $18.09 - $20.83 per hour! 40-hour Week -> Monday through Friday!
