About the role

The Teacher Assistant provides direct support to students and helps monitor behavior in both classroom and non-classroom settings. Responsibilities include assisting with small groups, supervising during transitions, and maintaining classroom structure when the teacher is absent.

Description The Teacher Assistant provides direct support to students and helps monitor and manage student behavior in both classroom and non-classroom settings. This role may involve working one-on-one with students, supervising during transitions, and stepping in when the teacher is out of the room. This position is 30 hours/week.

Responsibilities

Provide individual or small-group assistance to students under the direction of the teacher. Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times. Support classroom management by monitoring student behavior and engagement. Step in to maintain classroom structure if the teacher is temporarily out of the room. Uphold and reinforce school rules and safety procedures. Perform other duties as needed to support student learning and well-being.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required Bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous experience (preferably 2+ years) working with children. ***A professional CV/resume, cover letter, and three references are required to be uploaded when applying for this position.**
