Job Description

Shape the Future of Nursing Education In this role, you’ll help shape the next generation of healthcare providers through high‑quality nursing education delivered in classroom and clinical settings. You’ll play a vital role in teaching, mentoring, evaluating, and supporting students while contributing to the broader academic and professional community in alignment with Chamberlain’s mission. What You’ll Do Teach assigned nursing courses across classroom, online, clinical, lab, and simulation environments using engaging, evidence‑based, and technology‑enabled methods. Contribute to curriculum development and implement approved course content and teaching materials. Put students first—build meaningful relationships, understand individual needs, and foster an inclusive learning environment that supports success. Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback and remediation as needed. Lead or support clinical, lab, and simulation experiences, connecting theory to practice and promoting safe, ethical, and professional nursing practice. Support student and new faculty success through guidance, coaching, and mentoring. Participate in professional service activities such as committees, graduation, and program evaluation. Engage in scholarship related to teaching and nursing practice by researching, applying, and sharing new knowledge. Maintain subject‑matter expertise and teaching effectiveness through ongoing professional development. Apply and uphold academic and student‑related policies, including exams, attendance, and grading standards, staying current with updates. Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards. How You’ll Succeed Anticipate and respond to student needs while helping remove barriers to success. Align daily work with Chamberlain’s vision and strategic priorities. Seek feedback, implement new initiatives, and use data to continuously improve student outcomes. Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners in a matrixed environment. Demonstrate ethical practice, accountability, and a commitment to shared success. What Success Looks Like Students achieve strong outcomes, including NCLEX, KAM, and other program metrics. High levels of student engagement and satisfaction reflected in evaluations and NPS feedback. All academic work meets licensure and regulatory requirements. Grading and feedback are accurate, rubric‑aligned, timely, and high quality. Effective use of technology, data, and AI tools to enhance teaching and learning. Ongoing faculty contributions to service, scholarship, and a positive academic culture aligned with Chamberlain’s values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications Master’s degree in nursing. At least 2 years of professional experience in a field related to the teaching discipline. Active, unencumbered licensure or certification required to practice professionally in the discipline, as applicable to assignment. Education and experience that align with state, regulatory, and licensure requirements for assigned courses. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach assigned courses based on education, experience, and professional preparation.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree in nursing. Teaching & Professional Skills Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and a high level of initiative. Proven ability to create engaging, inclusive learning environments and manage conflict effectively. Strong emotional and social intelligence, with the ability to recognize student needs and respond with empathy. Experience collaborating with faculty, Extended Service Teams, and clinical partners to support student outcomes. Technology & Innovation Proficiency with learning management systems, simulation equipment, and online teaching platforms. Growing ability to leverage technology, data, and AI tools to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness. Scholarship & Professional Development Demonstrates scholarship appropriate to academic rank, including at least one example in one of the following areas: Scholarship of Discovery Scholarship of Integration Scholarship of Practice/Application Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Scholarship activities must be public, peer‑reviewable, and accessible for use by others, as outlined in the faculty handbook. Compliance & Credentialing Maintains current regulatory, licensure, and practice credentials as required by assignment. For faculty working in clinical settings, meets all additional compliance requirements outlined in the Faculty Compliance Packet. Additional state‑specific requirements may apply; refer to the Online Faculty Licensure Requirements Document for details related to your designated specialty.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $110,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
