About the role

The Behavior Technician works 1

1 with children with special needs to support their communication, social, and play skills. They are responsible for implementing behavior plans designed by BCBAs and tracking client progress through data collection and clinical notes.

We’re hiring for clients throughout San Diego County, including Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Poway, Clairemont, Mission Valley, El Cajon, La Mesa, Lakeside, Santee, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, National City, Chula Vista, and Imperial Beach.

You’ll make an impact by

Working 1:1 with children with special needs to support the development of their communication, self-help, social, and play skills Implementing behavior plans designed by BCBAs, including tailoring techniques and strategies to meet your client’s individual needs and ensure skill acquisition Tracking and sharing your client’s progress by collecting behavior data and recording clinical notes Attending ongoing development and training designed to strengthen both our team and the ABA services we provide Why VBA?

Flexible

Schedules: We’ll work with you to create a schedule that meets your needs! Minimum required availability is 3 weekdays for a 3 hour shift between 3:00 - 7:00pm. Depending on your availability, you'll work 15 to 20 hours per week.

Competitive hourly rates: $20.00 - $27.00/hour, with paid drive time and mileage between client sessions

Paid training and shadowing: You'll receive direct support from BCBAs as you earn your Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®) certification. Non-billable work, including training, is paid at prevailing minimum wage

Benefits

You'll also receive a cell phone stipend and incentives for referring new talent to VBA You’ll need to: Have a HS diploma or equivalent, and be 18 years of age or older Have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Be open to work at least 3 days weekdays for a 3 hour shift between 3:00-7:00pm Be available to attend one of training schedules for two weeks, held Mon-Fri 3:00-7:30pm & Sat 9:00am-4:00pm OR Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm OR an ONLINE training If hired, take a TB Test & Live Scan background check; provide proof of MMR and TDap vaccination Experience working with children and/or disabilities is desirable, but not required! We hire experienced RBTs and those just entering the field.
