About the Role

  • Hello, Special Education Teacher Assistants! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Special Education Teacher Assistant for a school setting in Clanton, AL. In this role, you'll play a critical role in supporting students with special needs by assisting with instruction, implementing individualized plans, monitoring student behavior, and collaborating with school personnel to promote student success Why Join Us Competitive pay (Up to $17-20/hour) + steady school-year schedule W-2 employment with liability insurance included Healthcare benefits
  • + 401(k) with company match Reimbursement for licensure, CEUs, and professional expenses Mileage reimbursement between sites + referral bonuses What You’ll Do Support and reinforce IEP goals and classroom objectives through adapted activities and materials. Provide individual and small-group instruction under teacher supervision. Assist students with academic, behavioral, social, communication, and daily living skills. Support teachers with testing, assignments, and classroom activities. Assist students with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, grooming, and mobility when needed. Implement behavior intervention plans and reinforce positive learning strategies. Monitor and supervise students across classrooms, lunchrooms, playgrounds, field trips, and other settings. Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor student progress and implement IEP objectives. Maintain student records, daily logs, and data collection as required. Help maintain a safe, positive, and confidential learning environment, including responding appropriately to behavioral or emergency situations. What We’re Looking For Must hold an Associate’s degree, OR Have completed at least 48 semester hours at a regionally accredited institution of higher education, OR Have successfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education-approved WorkKeys test.
