About the Role

  • Hello, Special Education Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher for a school setting in Decatur, AL. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by implementing specialized instruction, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with IEP goals and student progress. This is a great fit for both seasoned special education teachers and those new to school-based settings.   • + 401(k) with company match Reimbursement for licensure, CEUs, and professional expenses Mileage reimbursement between sites + referral bonuses What You’ll Do Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the Alabama Course of Study (ACOS), developing and implementing engaging lesson plans to support diverse learning needs. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student goals and accommodations were effectively addressed. Facilitate IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and ongoing communication with families, educators, and support staff regarding student progress and needs. Utilize differentiated instruction, educational technology, and a variety of instructional resources to maximize student engagement and achievement. Assess student performance through formal and informal evaluations, using data to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Establish and maintained a positive classroom environment by implementing effective behavior management strategies and enforcing school policies and procedures. Maintain accurate student records, documentation, reports, and compliance requirements in accordance with federal, state, district, and school regulations. Support overall school operations through collaboration with colleagues, participation in professional meetings, and completion of additional duties assigned by school and district administrators.
