The Health Specialist is responsible for monitoring the health of children in Head Start programs, including reviewing physicals and conducting audio and visual screenings. They also maintain health tracking systems, coordinate with medical staff for referrals, and ensure classroom safety compliance.
Responsible for providing health monitoring services to children in the Head Start and Child Care programs. Is knowledgeable about program philosophy and regulations and performance standards applicable to health/family services component of program. Supports and promotes School Readiness for children, families and communities.

• Proof of physical exam within the last year determining good health and meeting all EEC requirements. Must submit proof of physical exam every 2 years thereafter. Proof of MMR.
As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Health Specialist will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.
8:30 - 4:00PM. Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. 35 Hours per week.
