About the role

The teacher will lead nature- and play-based activities for students ranging from preschool to 8th grade while supporting a social-justice focused curriculum. Responsibilities include spending significant time outdoors and collaborating with an experienced team of educators.

Afterschool / Flex Teacher needed (part-time)

The Schoolhouse Learning Center in South Burlington immediately seeks a part-time Afterschool/ Flex Teacher for preschool-8th grade students in our nature- and play-based program.

Candidates should enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors in all weather, exploring, and teaching children about the natural world, as well as supporting a social-justice focused curriculum.

This position is approximately 28 - 30 hours per week and spreads across all programs.

Job Qualifications

  • Some experience working with young children is preferred; we will train the right candidate. High School diploma required. Teachers must attend 15 hours of professional development training in early childhood education each year (this is paid time), and obtain certification in First Aid/CPR.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a high school diploma and have some experience working with young children. Teachers are required to complete 15 hours of professional development annually and obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
