The substitute teacher is responsible for executing lesson plans and maintaining a positive, safe classroom environment for students in grades K-6. They must also manage classroom routines, take attendance, and report any student injuries or discipline issues to the administration.

This employee is responsible for assisting teachers in regular classrooms or special compensatory programs, or in the absence of the teacher, may provide instruction to students. Essential Job
Assume all duties of the regular classroom teacher, including the execution of lesson plans. Create a positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning Maintain normal classroom routines and discipline procedures Take attendance in accordance with school policies. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Ensure adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students. Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to administration immediately. Meet the standards of performance for his/her individual teaching assignment. Assist in implementing Audubon Charter policies concerning safety in the classroom. Maintain and respect confidentiality of students and school personnel information. Perform other related duties as required.
