The Education Support Professional at the Boys & Girls Club plays a key role in enhancing academic success for youth by providing direct educational support, tutoring, and program assistance. This position ensures that members (ages 6-18) receive guidance in their learning journey, fosters a positive learning environment, and supports educational programs that align with the Club’s mission to help young people reach their full potential.
Must possess Emergency First Aid & CPR Certificate.
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in education, Youth Development, or a related field preferred. Must have experience working with children and youth in an educational or afterschool setting.
Provide homework help, tutoring, and academic enrichment activities for members.
Assist in implementing literacy, numeracy, and STEM-based learning programs.
Support students with different learning styles and needs, reinforcing positive study habits.
Encourage member participation in academic programs and assist with project-based learning.
Help organize and implement structured learning activities, ensuring they are engaging and effective.
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all members.
Serve as a mentor and role model, encouraging positive attitudes toward learning.
Support students in developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and academic independence.
Assist in maintaining records of student progress and participation.
Set up learning materials, manage supplies, and maintain an organized educational space.
