About the role

The Assistant Teacher helps develop and implement lesson plans while maintaining a clean, organized, and positive classroom environment. They are responsible for following state regulations and policies while actively engaging with children during play and daily routines.

$15/hr MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Day Care Assistant Teacher to join our North County Daycare team! Qualifications

Must be 18-years of age with a High School Diploma or GED. 6 months of experience working as a supervised Assistant Teacher in a day care or school setting is required. Required knowledge of the basic child needs and sensitivity to the capabilities, interest and problems associated with children and their day care needs. Primary Duties/Responsibilities

  • Helps develop and implement lesson plans.
  • Follows State Regulations.
  • Follows policies and procedures as outlined in employee and job manuals.
  • Creates a positive and inviting environment for children.
  • Assists with the development and measurement of individualized goals for children.
  • Greets parents, asks appropriate questions, and gives appropriate information.
  • Includes themselves in children's play time both indoors and outdoors.
  • Follows schedule for classroom so that activities are timely and organized.
  • Completes the Opening Procedures, Nap time Procedures and Closing Procedures on a daily basis so that classrooms and common areas remain clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.
