Pre-K childcare program that serves the children of academy faculty and members of the surrounding community. The CDC places an emphasis on outdoor education and offers a dynamic enrichment program that includes gardening, cooking, foreign language, music, and movement. Teachers are provided with the Frogstreet Press curriculum and are supported with a mentor. Preference is given to candidates who have experience working with these specific age groups as well as early childhood education credentials, or their equivalent. General staff responsibilities include overseeing the daily operation of the classroom and working with the other teachers to meet the developmental physical, and emotional needs of the children. Teachers are expected to manage the classroom with positive behavioral expectations. Our program is not specialized for specific learning needs, and a background in special education is not required.

QualificationsLead teacher requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in childcare classroom.
Lead teacher preferences: Bachelor's degree, particularly in the areas of early childhood education, child development, or social work. Lead teacher responsibilities include creating lesson plans, assessing students, communicating with parents, and writing weekly newsletters.
