Description The After-School Maktab Teacher helps students build a strong foundation in Ouran reading (Nazirah) and essential Islamic knowledge. The role centers on teaching correct recitation with proper tajweed using the Safar Publications Curriculum, guiding students from foundational reading through fluency, supporting memorization of surahs and duas, and nurturing sound Islamic character in an engaging, age-appropriate environment. Instruction is delivered in coordination with the Islamic Foundation and reflects the school's commitment to tarbiyyah, taleem, and ta'deeb.
Key Responsibilities Teach Ouran reading (Nazirah) using the Safar Publications Curriculum, guiding students from foundational reading through fluent, tajweed-correct recitation.
Support students in memorizing surahs, duas, and foundational Islamic knowledge.
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with Islamic values.
Maintain discipline and a respectful, nurturing classroom environment grounded in Islamic adab.
Take attendance and maintain accurate progress notes for each student.
Coordinate with fellow Maktab instructors on pacing, scheduling, and student placement.
Communicate student progress and concerns to program leadership and to families as directed.
Arrive on time and prepared for each session.
Model Islamic manners and professionalism at all times.
