Practice for this role

About the role

Lead after-school and weekend pickleball classes for youth at various local schools and recreation centers. Manage class setup, instruction, and ensure the safe dismissal of all students.

  • $20–$30/hr | Part-Time | Flexible Schedule Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country — and we're bringing it to kids. We run youth pickleball programs at schools and rec centers across Fairfax County, Loudoun, Arlington, and Herndon. We need an instructor who gets the game, loves teaching it, and can make it a blast for kids who've never held a paddle. You'll run your own class. We give you the curriculum — you bring the energy and execution. What you'll do:
  • Lead after-school and weekend pickleball classes at local schools and rec centers
  • Deliver OTA curriculum for assigned age group (we train you on it)
  • Teach fundamentals — serving, dinking, positioning, scoring — in a fun, game-based format
  • Manage your class independently — setup, instruction, dismissal
  • Ensure every kid is safely dismissed before leaving What we're looking for:
  • Pickleball background — competitive, recreational, or instructional experience
  • Experience working with kids (coaching, camps, rec — all counts)
  • High energy — pickleball is supposed to be fun, bring it
  • Reliable, punctual, professional
  • Must pass background check + fingerprinting
  • Reliable transportation to assigned sites Pay & Schedule:
  • $20–$25/hr to start based on experience
  • Up to $30/hr for returning, experienced instructors
  • 1–3 days/week depending on your availability
  • Weekday afternoons and/or weekends
