About the role

The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct evaluations, develop individualized goals, and provide instruction to support student communication needs. They will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate service schedules and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

This position is scheduled for 29 hours per week.

Summary

We are currently seeking dedicated Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) to join our team in a traveling role. This position offers a dynamic work environment and requires a flexible, adaptable approach to meet the evolving needs of students and schools. As a traveling SLP, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping students reach their full potential.

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works collaboratively with special education teachers, general education staff, and related service providers to support students with identified speech and language needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with the administrator over special education to develop and coordinate daily service schedules, evaluation timelines, and annual IEP meetings
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility determinations, annual reviews, and progress monitoring discussions
  • Conducting speech and language evaluations and contributing to assessment planning as part of the special education process
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized speech-language goals aligned with each student’s IEP
  • Providing specially designed instruction to meet the unique communication needs of students through a variety of service models.
  • Documenting service delivery, progress notes, and compliance-related paperwork in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines
  • Consulting with teachers and families to support carryover of communication strategies across classroom and home environments
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

NHA provides specially designed instruction developed to meet the unique needs of each child as a result of their disability, and the SLP plays a critical role in supporting student access to instruction and overall academic success.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a master’s degree in speech language pathology - CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associate (ASHA).
  • Experience working with at-risk student populations
  • Experience in a school-based or pediatric environment

Requirements

Candidates must hold a master’s degree in speech language pathology and possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA. Experience working with at-risk student populations and familiarity with school-based special education processes are required.
