About the role

The Infant Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing daily curriculum activities while overseeing the personal care and hygiene of infants. They also supervise assistant teachers and maintain clear communication with parents and the director regarding classroom activities and child development.

You will oversee and coordinate the children’s personal care, hygiene, learning activities, specialized programs, and positive guidance. Day-to-day activities will include supervising and directing activities of assistant teachers assigned to the classroom. You will also keep the director informed on a timely basis of pertinent issues regarding staff, children, families, and the program.

Duties and Responsibilities: Understands and complies with all Ivy Kids Brand standards & State Standards

General Plans and implements the Ivy Kids curriculum activities Keeps accurate and current records of each child’s developmental milestones, student accidents, anecdotal records, and attendance.

Ensure ASQs are conducted on time.

Has knowledge of state standards and ability to follow Ivy Kids Critical Procedures.

Provides daily communication to parents via parent app.

Attend staff meetings and trainings.

Interaction with Parents, Staff, and Director Assists in training new staff and familiarizing them with program practices, forms, and schedules.

Observes, records, and reports to the director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely affect the quality of care provided.

Health and Safety Understands and implements all Critical procedures and infant care procedures.

Implements appropriate procedures in the event of an emergency Administers CPR/First aid if needed Properly maintains educational materials and equipment Ensures all sanitization procedures are followed as regulated by childcare licensing Keeps the classroom and other play areas safe, neat, and clean.

Qualifications

Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds. Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents. The lead teacher must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.
