GENERAL
Description
OF
POSITION: We are seeking dependable and enthusiastic assistant baseball coaches to help support our junior-high baseball program. Responsibilities include assisting with practices, supervising student-athletes, teaching proper techniques and form, coaching at games, and promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and Christ-like character. Previous coaching or baseball experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must meet all employment and background-check requirements. As an Athletics Coach at Lucas Christian Academy, you will be expected to partner with the mission and vision of our Athletic Department and Lucas Christian Academy. A coach in our community will be energetic, positive, motivating, and train our athletes through skill development and game strategies. They will have biblical integration in their coaching style and philosophies that ensure an environment that glorifies God. This is a stipend only position reporting to the Program Head Coach and the Athletic Director.

Maintain an active, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through personal prayer, study time and through consistent involvement within the Body of Christ.
Learn, understand, and support the spiritual, academic and athletic mission of Lucas Christian Academy and creatively carry out our mission.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Encourage the development of Godly character qualities in students.
Show by example a profound reverence for the Word of God.
Create an environment with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, physical, social and spiritual growth.
Establish positive relationships with coaches, athletes, parents, & staff.
Provide students with an opportunity to compete at a high level.
Ensure compliance with Rank One and TAPPS.
Must know TAPPS rules and by-laws.
Help execute practices and activities to achieve district and state recognition.
Keep proper discipline during practices and competitions.
Effectively communicate with parents and players.
Maintain regular and accurate attendance records.
Flexibility in scheduling of practices & games.
Demonstrate a knowledge of the latest trends, developments, rule changes and modifications in sports.
Maintain alignment in the coaching staff.
Assist Program Head Coach and Athletic Director with other tasks assigned.
QualificationsMinimum requirements include, but not limited to:
A High School diploma. Associates degree preferred.
Prior coaching experience desired or varsity level player experience.
Knowledge of overall operations of athletic programs and events.
Ability to communicate and walk out your faith.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Partnership with the Athletic Department & School as a whole.
Agreement with LCA’s Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Human Sexuality as stated on the school website.

Become familiar with and keep updated on all our Emergency Protocols, Policies, and Procedures.
Contribute to school systems effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
Establish and adjust objectives by following school guidelines and school goals, plans, policies, and procedures.
Maintain records by documenting accordingly.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies as deemed by your supervisor
Embrace biblical truth, strive for excellence, and model Christ-like leadership.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish educational results and departmental requests/needs.
Meet requirements for educational development related to your position certifications.
Complete continuing education as deemed by your supervisor.
Willingness to take developmental assessments.
Background checks, Ministry Safe, Drug tests, and all compliance requests.
Attend Parent Teacher Fellowship, all school Workshops.
Attend In-service, assist in set up and tear down of all school PTFs and Workshops as deemed by your supervisor.
Support Leadership Decisions.
Other duties as assigned by Direct Supervisor, Team lead, Head of School.
